1. The temples of Kerala do not allow entry of non-Hindus. A strict dress codes has been devised for the devotees visiting these temples. Before entering the temples, remove your shoes outside.

3. From September to March is the best time to visit Kerala. This is the peak season and the rates are slightly high at this time. 9. When you are at the beach, always listen to what the tourist police and the lifeguard says. On some beaches, the waves might be good for swimming, surfing and other water sports but at some places there are rocks below that are hidden by the currents.

10. The level of spice served in Kerala food is medium. You can guide the chef / resort / waiter about your choice of taste in spices and other ingredients.

11. Use your smart phone and its travel application for enjoying your holidays to the fullest, without any kind of trouble.

12. Taxis and prepaid cabs are easily available at a reasonable rate from the airport. Cars, bicycles and other vehicles are available on rent. It is important that you return the vehicles on the decided time and date so that extra charges are not levied.

13. Giving tips in Kerala is considered to be good manners. Usually 10 percent of the service amount is given in the form of tips. Tipping might have to be done in hotels, taxis, cafes, restaurants, and to porters, travel assistants and tourist guides.

14. Kerala is known to be the hub of Ayurveda in India where authentic treatments and massages are offered. There are authorized spas and Ayurveda centers. Opt for those that are approved by the Kerala Tourism Department.

15. If you rent a car or any other vehicle and you are going to drive it yourself, always carry your driving license with yourself.

16. The cheapest mode of transport in Kerala is going to be trains and buses but it is recommend that you ensure the timing and book your tickets prior to the journey.

17. Court has banned smoking in public areas in Kerala. One who does not follows this rule will be prosecuted.

19. Public display of affection (PDA) and public kissing is now allowed in Kerala.

20. South Indian state of Kerala is known to be one of those states where law and order is followed in a strict manner. Nevertheless, you can avoid travelling to remote areas during late night hours. You can stay in your resort or hotel at night and then start your journey in early morning hours.
