The Raja Ravi Varma Art Gallery in Kozhikode is one of the most popular tourist attractions present in Kozhikode. This art gallery was erected solely for the cause of painting and painters. This Art Gallery is situated 5 kms away from the town of Kozhikode, in the complex of Pazhassiraja Museum. Beautiful oil paintings of Raja Ravi Verma, a popular Indian artist, are showcased inside the museum. Raja Ravi Verma was the first artist in India to use the oil paints on canvas. The paintings showcased inside the Art Gallery depics depth and simplicity of Keralites. The art gallery instituted in the name of Pazhassiraja Kerala Varmais managed by the State Archaeology Department.
