Located 32 km eastward of Kottayam, Pala or Palai is one of the most enchanting, verdant green places in the south Indian state of Kerala. A peaceful religious place, it is home to the largest proportion of Roman Catholics. It is situated on the banks of the river Meenachil and if the legends are to be believed, it finds its roots from the mythological days. Palai is also known in the form of the main gateway to the southern high ranges.
