One of the most well-known pilgrim destinations of Kerala, Pathanamthitta is a huge town and the youngest district of Kerala, placed in the southern part of the state. Famed as the gateway to the admired Sabarimala pilgrimage, it has been blessed with natural beauty and scenic locations in abundance. A cosmopolitan area, it is a perfect mix of the old and the new. Pathanmthitta and its surrounding villages and towns are home to several temples and other religious sites. Due to the very reason, this district is flocked by pilgrims all around the year. By Air

The nearest airport to Pathanmthitta is the Thiruvananthapuram International Airport, which receives both domestic and international flights on a daily basis and is well-connected to the entire local and most of the international destinations. To reach your destination, you can hire a taxi from outside the airport.

By Train

The nearest railway stations to this place are located in Thiruvalla and Chengannur, which are places at a distance of 26 km and 40 km, respectively. You can opt for hired-taxi services to reach your destination that may cost somewhere between INR 150 to INR 1500.

By Road

The town of Pathanamthitta is positioned strategically quite close to 2 highways and thus, it is easy to reach it through road. Regular bus service is available to and from Pathanamthitta to all important destinations such as Thiruvananthapuram, Chennai, Coimbatore, Kochi and other nearby places. Both private and public buses are available.
