Vythiri Hill Station:

Eddakal Caves, situated on the Ambukuthi hills is another must visit tourist attraction present around Vythiri. The caves have drawn attention of many historians and archeologists from worldwide for its fascinating prehistoric rock etchings found on its walls. Word Edakkal in literal terms mean a stone in between. The interiors of the cave have two levels. The first level of the cave is 18 feet long, 12 feet wide and 10 feet high, while the second level of the cave measures 96 feet long, 22 feet wide and 18 feet high. The light penetrates the cave through a gap present in the corner of the roof.
Ambalavayal Heritage Museum:
The Ambalavayal Heritage Museum is one of the major attractions to explore in Vythiri. On the visit to this museum one can explore the old stone weapons along with some of the hunting weapons preserved and showcased in its galleries. If you are a historian then it is surely a great place to visit.
Tholpetty Wildlife Sanctuary:
Tholpetty Wildlife Sanctuary lying at a distance of 100 kms from Vythiri is the paradise for the animal lovers. It is the best place to explore different kinds of avifauna and wildlife species. The best way to explore the park is while enjoying a two hour jeep safari arranged by the forest department. It is mandatory for the visitors to be accompanied by a guide who has a better understanding of the sanctuary. MeenmuttyFalls:
Meenmutty Fall is one of the most impressive waterfalls present in close proximity of Vythiri. The water cascades from a height of 300 meters. It is a majestic sight to see the water gracefully falling in the three separate tiers. In order to reach this waterfall the visitors need to trek for a distance of 2 kms. Though one can visit the fall throughout the year. It is best to visit these waterfalls during the monsoon season from a distance since it has a great level of water and slippery surroundings.
Pookot Lake:
Pookot Lake is a beautiful lake situated in the rocky hills. The water of the lake is crystal clear and the lush green foliage surrounding the forest provides for magnificent views. This placid lake makes for a perfect picnic spot to enjoy the beauty of mother nature.
